The phrase Mother is not just “a woman who gives birth to a child”. A mother is an unconditional love giver who has the responsibility of physically and emotionally taking care of a child.
As growing girls, we were surrounded by mothers in different facets, expertise, forms and even sizes. We see them in our Mothers, Sisters, Aunties, Grannies, Neighbours and even Passers-by. It was so incredible observing them love, nurture and care for just anyone and everyone! Most young girls like me at a particular point in their life fantasised about growing up someday to be mothers, and a good number of us were even tasked with the responsibilities of taking care of our younger ones.
Fast forward to the present and we are all grown women! Many of us are hoping to have our child(ren) someday, a part are waiting, some are expecting and several others are already mothering our babies.
Whatever stage you are at, celebrate yourself. You are a MOTHER!
One who is being completely overwhelmed by love, joy, responsibility and selflessness. Not just to your offspring but to every child out there. The means you choose to become a mother doesn’t matter; be it by personally giving birth, adopting, fostering, surrogacy or just taking care of the child next to you.
